FAQ

Am I Suitable For All-On-4® Implants?

You may be suitable for All-On-4® Dental Implants if you are suffering from failing natural teeth due to decays and infections, advanced gum disease, loose teeth, multiple missing teeth, or if you hate wearing dentures and are looking for a more stable and comfortable solution. You may also be a good candidate if you have previously been told that you are not suitable for dental implants due to insufficient jawbone, as we have options available for this situation. However, each patient is different, so a proper assessment is essential to determine if you are a good candidate.

How Long Does The Procedure Take?

At The Point Dental, you’ll experience the life-changing All-On-4® transformation in just 3 days.

What Is The Success Rate?

The success rate of All-On-4® Dental Implants is extremely high at 98%, provided that it is done following the correct technique, and by using genuine All-On-4® Implants manufactured by Nobel Biocare. In fact, this is one of the most predictable dental procedures done in dentistry.

How Do I Care For My All-On-4® Dental Implants?

Caring for your All-On-4® Dental Implants is similar to caring for your natural teeth, except it’s even simpler. Seeing as all your teeth are joined together, there is no need to floss in between your teeth, as you’re required to do with natural teeth. With All-On-4® Implants you’ll need to:

– Brush your teeth twice a day with toothpaste
– Use waterflosser to clean under the bridge where your teeth meet your gum
– Get 6-monthly dental check-ups

Your dentist will also provide you with detailed care instructions after your procedure.

Are All-On-4® Dental Implants Painful?

There is minimal pain throughout the All-On-4® Dental Implant process. The procedure itself is performed under local anaesthesia or general anaesthesia, which means it isn’t painful at all. If you get the procedure done under local anaesthesia, you may feel some pushing and pressure, and our experienced, gentle team will make sure you are as comfortable as possible. If you choose general anaesthetic, this process will be performed by our in-house anaesthetic team.

After the procedure, some discomfort and swelling is normal but can usually be managed with over-the-counter or prescribed pain medication.

Can I Be Asleep During The All-On-4® Prodecure?

Yes, you can absolutely be asleep during your All-On-4® procedure. At The Point Dental, we specialise in sleep dentistry and have an in-house anaesthetic team that can administer a general anaesthetic.

How Long Is The All-On-4® Recovery?

We recommend patients take 1-2 weeks off work after the procedure, mainly due to the swelling you will experience. The swelling is completely normal, peaking on the 3rd or 4th day post-surgery, and subsiding after that.
